CLPOA Kids’ Fishing Derby

WOW, what a success !!

This year’s derby was well attended with 94 participants, and we will be posting the photos to the website as soon as they become available, so feel free to send yours in as well.

This success was in huge part due to the phenomenal response from the community for volunteers; so THANKS to everyone who came to help setup, cleanup, and the host of activities in between. Thanks also to our Apsley school volunteers as well, and we hope to see more of you from next year’s graduating class !

A special THANKS also to out host…LAKEVIEW MARINA…who have always been there to offer their place for this and other CLPOA events.

…and finally, a Super Special Thank You to LYNNE MOORE who has been organizing and running this event for many years. Her dedication to the kids Derby has been outstanding and her retirement from this event will have us searching Hi-and-Low for such a suitable replacement. We did a lot of learning at this year’s event and we will build these into the 2027 website next year. For example, earlier registration and volunteer options to better utilize resources and time so we can get out fishing EARLIER !!
