If so, make sure they don’t miss the 6th annual CLPOA Kids’ Fishing Derby on Sat. July 5, 2025.
Create long-lasting memories at this fun-filled day that includes:
- Prizes for the longest fish in each of the categories:
- Lake Trout
- Pike
- Largemouth Bass; Smallmouth Bass
- Perch
- And the greatest weight of combined Pan Fish (Rock Bass, Sunfish, etc.)
- Birds of Prey – The Eyrie, will entertain everyone and instil respect and knowledge thanks to Clark Breuls, Re/Max.
- OPP Marine Unit display about boating and water safety
- Ministry of Natural Resources Learning to Fish and water safety display.

Participants receive:
- A loot bag
- T-shirt
- Lunch (Others may purchase a lunch from CLPOA BBQ Volunteers)
Participants must be 4 – 12 years of age on July 5, 2025 and accompanied by a responsible Adult.

Location: Lakeview Cottages & Marina – 176 Lakeview Crescent, Chandos Lake
Date: Sat. July 5, 2024 (Rain or Shine)
Check-in: 8:30 – 9:00 a.m.
Fishing: 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. (Catch must be presented at the measurement or weigh-in table before 12 noon.)
Followed by Lunch, a group photo, and the presentation of prizes.
This is a Catch & Release Tournament. All game fish must be presented alive at the measurement table in a self-provided container. Pan Fish will be donated to the display exhibit.
Release Form
A responsible Adult must accompany minors (maximum of 5 minors per responsible Adult) to the Registration desk to complete and sign a Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims Agreement.
You may also print the Release, complete it with the participant name(s), and bring it with you to the Registration desk to sign in person.

In addition to the adults accompanying children, this event would not happen without the dedication and creativity of many volunteers. We need a few volunteers to set up on Friday night, many volunteers on Saturday to register the kids, measure fish, shuttle people to boats, clean up, take pictures, and so much more. Please note we can also provide high school students with time towards their volunteer hours.
