Moses Couch

• Born in 1851 in Murray, Ontario
• At 16, came to Chandos and located a “freegrant” consisting of 136 acres (Lot 7 & 8 concessions 7) on south bank of Loon Lake

Francis Middleton

• Born 1824
• At 40, came to Chandos and selected a beautiful location on the shore of Loon Lake
